The Commonwealth

Our Story

Two commonwealths.

The name comes from a journey from one commonwealth to another, Virginia to Kentucky. It was the Haney family's home before it welcomed guests, and it still lives like one.

The family kitchen set for dinner

Gracious without fuss. Grand without showing off.

The Commonwealth is made for people who share a lot of years: couples who come back to the Trail together, and families gathering for the milestones that matter. We want you to leave with your cups full, a little sad to go, and already asking about the same weekend next year.

Aged together, like the good stuff.

What We Believe

Room for Everyone

Every couple gets a room of their own, so no one gives up their comfort to share a weekend with the people they love.

Always Faithful

We keep our word to the guests who come back, to the land, and to the standard they expect each time.

Honor What Came Before

Virginia behind us and Kentucky ahead. We honor the bourbon heritage and the years of friendship our guests bring.

Part of Something Bigger

A stay here should do some good for Bloomfield and Nelson County.

Generosity in the Details

We solve the problem before the guest has it.

From Our Family to Yours

A home before it was a getaway.

The Commonwealth was our family's home before it welcomed guests. From Virginia to Kentucky, our story brought us to 85 quiet acres in Bloomfield—and a house with room for the people we love.

Now it's a place for your people, too. Dinner around the island. One more conversation on the deck. Time together, with a room of your own.
